The national catalog brings together all Danish vocational educations in one place — from the classic building trades to the more specialized niche trades. A vocational apprenticeship (EUD) alternates between school and practice: you attend a vocational school while apprenticed in a company where you receive a wage while learning the trade. Most start with a basic course and continue in a main course that ends with a journeyman or apprenticeship certificate.

§Four main areas

Vocational education is divided into four main areas and each education belongs to one of them. The division helps you find the direction that suits your interests:

• 01Food, agriculture and experiences — food, animals, plants, nature and service.
• 02Office, retail and business service — retail, sales, administration and finance.
• 03Care, health and pedagogy — work with people, health and wellbeing.
• 04Technology, construction, and transport — craftsmanship, technique, production, and transport.
