§ 02 — Become Service assistant
As a service assistant you ensure hospitals companies and institutions function in daily life. You work with cleaning hygiene and practical service tasks and help create clean safe and well-functioning frames for others. It is a trade with people around you and an important role that is felt every single day.
§What do you do in everyday life?
A typical day involves cleaning and hygiene in buildings often in a hospital or large workplace. You plan your tasks use machines and the right methods and ensure high hygiene standards — especially where it matters most such as in hospitals. You also help with practical service tasks and meet many people throughout the day.

§How do you get started?
You start with a basic course at a vocational school and then find an apprenticeship, often in a region, municipality, or service company. You get apprentice wages throughout the education and alternate between school stays and practice so you learn both the theory of hygiene and the practical work in everyday life.
§The way forward
As a fully trained service assistant there are good job opportunities in the health system and at service companies. You can specialise in for example hospital hygiene become a team leader or build further with courses and other education within service and cleaning.
