Three classic work procedures from trade — drawn as blueprint: pipe channel and cold media
Pipe insulation in action
An insulator rolls a mineral wool lamellar mat around a hot pipe and secures it with galvanized steel wire in regular diagonal turns — the classic wire lacing.
Channel insulation with metal cladding
The metal jacket is folded around a square ventilation duct with mineral wool mat: one hand holds the aluminium sheet in place, another rivets the fold with a hand riveter.
Condensation insulation on cold pipe
Before/after on a cold coolant pipe: bare it sheds water as condensation, but insulated with elastomeric foam covering and spiral-wrapped aluminum tape the surface stays dry. Elastomeric foam has built-in vapor barrier.
