About Discebo.

The social and professional network for tradespeople — across all trades. Built as a combination of classic technical literature, modern tools and a living community.

Discebo means »I want to learn« in Latin — and that's the core of it: a place where apprentices become skilled in their trade, and where journeymen, masters and companies pass the craft on. One login gives access to the entire workshop, no matter which trade you work in.

Learning for every trade

Each trade has its own library: articles for reading in depth, calculators and templates for concrete sizing and pattern development, technique guides step by step, assortment for looking up tools and materials, quizzes for practising the subject matter, live 3D figures on the calculators, and a AI assistant for questions that don't fit into a formula.

Discebo covers 120 trades, educations and courses distributed across 36 schools — from carpenters, electricians and technical insulators to gastronomists, hairdressers and animal caretakers — and they are all equal: each profession has its own study material, calculators, inventory and quizzes. All the breadth can be discovered together on the cross-disciplinary hubs (calculators, articles, templates, quiz, assortment) and under Education programmes.

The entire platform can be read in Danish + 11 other languages, has a built-in dyslexia-friendly reading mode (Aa button) and can be installed as an app on your phone.

Community & work

On top of the trades lies one common layer: a feed for sharing projects and questions, messages and forum, teams and shift schedule for managing the crew, job posting, a marketplace for used tools and materials, and a professional profile with your qualifications. The craft is tied together across trades.

For schools and students there is a real PLACEHOLDER_25: classes and groups, schedule, assignments, grades, absences and a personal Student workspace.. For companies a work-workspace with projects, photo markup and task management, a company hub with a public customer page, a shared file drive and an onlineCV you control the visibility of.

Who is behind

Discebo was created, developed and is run by Casper Møller Madsen — idea, design, content and code. You can learn more about me and my other projects at camsilo.dk. The platform is independent: it is not owned by or affiliated with schools, manufacturers or organisations, and none of the mentioned manufacturers or sources pay to be included.

Sources & credits

Discebo covers many trades, and each trade is built on published technical literature, Danish standards, legislation and industry guidelines. The content has been rephrased and structured for the web format — quotations and tables are used for educational purposes with source attribution. If you, as a rights holder, feel something should be adjusted, write to me and I'll correct it right away.

  • Electrician — DS/HD 60364 series (Handbook for Authorised Electricians, 10th edition 2025); Installation Regulation (BEK 1082/2016); Electrical Safety Act; Danish Safety Authority / Enterprise and Construction Authority.
  • VVS — DS 439:2024 (water standard); DS 469 (heating systems); authorisation scheme; Statens Serum Institut / Environmental Protection Agency (legionella).
  • Carpenter — Eurocode 5 (DS/EN 1995-1-1 and fire 1995-1-2); BR18 (§ 257 component minimum requirements and § 259 ff. energy frame); EN ISO 6946.

The trades' study material

De 120 trades, educations and courses each build on their own professional foundation: the official education decrees and competency goals, UddannelsesGuiden (ug.dk) and STIL (Danish Agency for Digitisation and Learning), trade associations and vocational schools (e.g. AMU centres and Hansenberg), and publicly available material from manufacturers and suppliers. Study material, calculators and product range for each programme are structured and reformatted for web with source attribution on each page. If you are a rights holder and believe something should be adjusted, please write — I will correct it immediately.

Teaching material (insulation)

  • Preben Kristensen — teaches at AMU Syd Kolding. Main source for the practical sections on mineral wool, elastomeric foam, metal jacketing, pillow sewing and fire insulation. The compendiums were prepared for Undervisningsministeriet (2011–2025).
  • BAI — the continuing-education committee for construction/civil engineering and industry: Technical Insulation — Trade calculation (Ministry of Education, October 2024). The geometry formulas in all templates (bends, reductions, tee pieces, metal jacketing, transitions) are taken from here.
  • AMU SYD's teaching playlist on YouTube — video constructions embedded on the template pages (fish, bends, reductions, tee pieces, bypass, transitions, vessel, basic geometry). All rights to the videos belong to AMU SYD and their instructors; they are embedded with credit, and each page links to the original on YouTube.

Handbooks & reference works

  • Isover HVAC Håndbog, 9th edition (December 2022) — Saint-Gobain Isover. Used as the primary reference for HVAC class lookup (pp. 24–25), dimension tables (pp. 15–45) and fastening guidance. The HVAC class calculator is a digital transposition of the table, not a reproduction of the original.

Everything is guiding – but fact-checked

All content on Discebo is advisory. Calculators, templates, articles, and guides provide indicative results – not final sizing, design, or advice. For specific tasks, sizing, material selection, and safety must always be validated against current standards, legislation, and project-specific requirements for the individual trade.

At the same time the content is fact-checked: figures formulas and class designations are checked against the published sources mentioned above — standards regulations industry guidelines and manufacturers' own data sheets — and the source is cited directly on each calculator and article. If you find an error anyway please write — it will be corrected.
