Safety, environment and quality

Safe work in nature

Work in forest and nature is physical and often involves powerful machinery and heavy materials. Safety is therefore non-negotiable — it can be the difference between a good day and a serious accident.

§Safety when felling

  • 01Assess the tree wind conditions and felling direction before felling
  • 02Ensure clear escape routes
  • 03Keep safe distance to colleagues
  • 04Use correct cutting technique
  • 05Be aware of hanging branches and tensions in the tree

§Machine safety

Maskiner kræver respekt. Lær betjeningen grundigt, brug sikkerhedsanordningerne, og arbejd aldrig med en maskine, du ikke er oplært i. Træthed og stress øger risikoen for fejl.

§First aid in the field

When you work far from help basic first aid is important. You should know how to stop bleeding call for help and remain calm in an emergency.

§Consideration for the environment

Quality in the trade also means taking care of nature. You must consider soil, watercourses, wildlife and protected areas so your work does not harm what you are set to care for.

A good forest technician leaves nature in better condition than it was — not worse.
