Specialties and future in the glazier trade

The glaziers trade is broader than many think. You might end up working with everything from large glass facades to fine framing — and you can specialise in the direction that suits you best.

The education has several directions so you can tailor your craft. Two central directions are the classic glazier work and the aluminium builder direction, where you work with aluminium constructions for facades and glass sections.

Glass plays a major role in the future's energy-efficient building. When old, poorly insulated windows are replaced with modern energy-efficient panes, the building's energy consumption falls. This gives the glazier an important role in making homes and buildings more sustainable. At the same time, there is growing focus on reusing and recycling materials.

With the journeyman's certificate you can become a service installer specialise in energy solutions or start your own business. The green transition means that skilled plumbers become more and more sought after. If you want to go further you can build on with a further education for example as a plumbing installer.
