§Study sheet: Photographer's basic concepts
Use this sheet as a quick reference when you practise with the camera. It gathers the concepts you should know in your sleep as a qualified photographer.
The three dimensions of exposure.
- 01Aperture — amount of light and depth of field.
- 02Closing time — how long the light hits the sensor; controls movement.
- 03ISO – light sensitivity; high ISO risks noise.
Composition
- 01Think about where in the image the subject is placed.
- 02Keep the background clean and without distracting elements.
- 03Use lines in the subject to guide the eye towards what is important.
