The photography trade is one of the trades that has changed the most in recent decades. When everyone suddenly got a camera in their pocket some thought the trade would disappear. The opposite has happened: the need for professional thoughtful images has only grown because everything — from web shops to social media — needs to be filled with good visual content.
§Where do photographers work?
Skilled photographers work many different places. Some have their own studio and take portraits, weddings, and business photos. Others are employed at companies, agencies, or media where they supply images and video for communication and marketing.

§Image is no longer just image
One of the most obvious changes is that photographers today often also make videos. Short films for social media, product videos and motion graphics have become part of many photographers' daily work. Therefore, the education also includes video and graphic work — it is rarely enough to just be able to take still photos.
§Self-employed or employed?
The photography trade is characterized by many being self-employed or working as freelancers. This gives freedom but also a responsibility to find customers draw up budgets and run a business. This is precisely why the training also includes instruction in business understanding so you are equipped to run your own company.
§What does the future bring?
The technology continues to evolve with new editing and image generation tools. It changes the profession, but it does not remove the need for a person with professional vision who can instruct, choose the right moment, and deliver something real. The photographers who constantly learn new things and are curious about technology stand strongest.
