Heating and injury prevention
Prepare body and train safely
Damage is one of the biggest reasons people take a break or quit training altogether. Much of it can be prevented with proper warm-up good technique and intensity that matches the level. As a trainer prevention is a core task — not something to skip when things get busy.
§What must the warm-up achieve?
A warm-up prepares body and mind for the coming strain: the pulse comes up a bit blood gets going the relevant joints and muscles are activated and movements are practiced in lighter versions. It gives both better performance and less risk of injury.
- 01Get the pulse up a bit and get the blood circulation going.
- 02Activate the joints and muscles that today's exercises use.
- 03Practice today's main movements in light, controlled versions.
- 04Adapt the warm-up to what is to be trained.
§Load sensibly
Many injuries occur when load increases too quickly or when technique is sacrificed for heavy weights. Gradual progression good technique and adequate recovery are the best injury prevention there is. More is not always better.

§The physical environment
Safety is also about the surroundings: clean and intact tools, weights placed properly, space around the person training and correct use of equipment. A tidy and well-maintained gym prevents accidents.
“The best training is the one you can repeat tomorrow – not the one that lays you up for a week.”
