Further and continuing education in finance

What you can build on — from financial economist to bachelor and specialist programmes

Finance education is rarely the endpoint. Because it is taken with EUX, you finish with a qualification for higher education that opens many doors. Here we look at what you can realistically build on — both further education and the sector's own follow-up courses.

§EUX opens the way to further education

The important thing to understand is that the EUX part gives you access to further education in the same way as a high school exam. You therefore don't need to take an extra qualifying exam if you at some point get the desire to study further — the foundation is already there.

§Finance economist and finance bachelor

Two natural paths forward are vocational academy education to finance economist and professional bachelor in finance (finance bachelor). They are direct continuation of the trade and dive deeper into economy investment financing and real estate trade. For many it is obvious way to qualify for more responsibility or specialized roles

§The sector's own specialist courses

Beyond the formal education, the financial sector has a strong tradition of internal further education. When you are to advise on, for example, investment, pension or business customers, you go through targeted courses and certifications in the company. This is an ongoing part of working life and a way to specialise without leaving your job.

§Diploma and academy modules alongside work

For the one who wants to continue without pausing their career there are academy and diploma modules in for example management financial advice and financial management which you can take individually alongside work. It is a flexible way to build competence over time.

§Make a long-term plan

By all means think about further and continuing education early. Talk to your workplace about what courses are available and what they support. Many financial companies pay for relevant training because they want to keep talented employees — so it can pay to ask.
