Safety, permits and quality at events
The responsibility that comes with gathering people
When you gather many people in one place responsibility follows. Safety isn't the most fun to think about but it's some of the most important: a good experience assumes everyone gets home safely.
§Permissions
Many events require permits, for example to use a public area, serve food and drink or play music. Which permits are required depends on the nature and location of the event. You learn to investigate the requirements in good time and to apply for the permits before it's too late.
§Risk assessment
A risk assessment is a consideration of what could go wrong and what you do about it. Where are the exits? What do you do about fire illness or bad weather? How many people are allowed? Having thought it through in advance is the difference between panic and calm if something happens.

§Quality and guest experience
Quality is about the guest getting the experience that was promised, and the details being in place: signage, schedule, refreshments and service. The small things that most people don't notice when they work are often what determines the overall impression.
