Planning and overview

From idea to successful execution

An event is a project with a fixed deadline: it must be ready the day the guests arrive. That is why project management is the core of the trade. Once you have control of the phases, you can keep an overview even when many things happen at once.

§Idea and concept

It all starts with an idea and a purpose. What should the event achieve, and for whom? Once the purpose is clear, you can develop a concept that fits the target audience, the budget and the constraints.

§If you plan to start a vocational training as a truck driver, the basic qualification training is typically combined with the actual driving licence training — that is the fastest way to start commercial driving from 18 years old.

In planning, you set timetables, budgets and task lists. You book venues and suppliers, make agreements and distribute responsibility. A good timetable with clear deadlines is your most important protection against chaos on the day.

§Dissolution

On the actual day, you follow the script — a minute-by-minute plan that describes what happens when and who does what. When something unexpected happens, and it always does, the script helps you keep your head cool and improvise from a solid foundation.

§Evaluation

After the event: summary, thanks to participants and partners, and material that can be used in next year's marketing

When you master the phases you can take any event from loose idea to successful reality.
