§Who does EUX suit?

EUX fits particularly well if you both like to work with your hands and are willing to master the academic side. You should be able to thrive in a daily routine that switches between school study and work-based practice, and you should enjoy the idea of ending up with two outcomes: a trade in your hands and an open door to further education.

§A day in two worlds

The everyday at upper secondary vocational education shifts character, depending on whether you are in a school period or in a work placement. In school periods the day resembles gymnasium with teaching, homework and tests. In the placement you are at a workplace with fixed starting times, colleagues and responsibility. It makes demands on adaptability — but for many it is precisely the shift that makes the programme lively.

§Support during training

How you are provided for during EUX depends on where in the course you are. In parts of the education there may be apprentice wages from the practising company, and in other parts there may be public education support. The specific rules and rates are set by authorities and collective agreements and change over time.

§The long perspective
