Further and continuing education — what can you build on?
From skilled to shorter courses technician and academy educations
One of the best things about a vocational education is that it doesn't close doors — it opens them. When you're a skilled property service technician, you can stay in the trade and improve, or you can use your journeyman certificate as a springboard to further education. How far you go is up to you.
§Short courses to sharpen your profile (AMU)
The most accessible path is labour market training (AMU). These are short, job-focused courses you can take alongside work to become sharper in a particular area. They are targeted at property services and keep you updated on new requirements and new technology.

- 02Technical service in the care sector.
- 03Technical service at hotels, conference, and holiday centres.
- 04Technical service at sports and leisure facilities.
- 05Courses within energy, environment and user understanding.
§Higher educations — professional academy
If you want to go further on a short higher education, the journeyman certificate provides access to several professional academy educations close to the field. Two obvious paths are:
- 01Energy technician — for you who want to work with energy optimization and technical systems at a higher level.
- 02Construction coordinator — for those who want to get into coordination and management of construction and operation.
§All the way up to professional bachelor
If you're up for a longer education, you can aim for a professional bachelor's degree. Building constructor is a classic path for craftspeople who want to work with design, construction management and building construction. There are also educations in energy and building management at this level. The path may require you to supplement with a few subjects, but your professional foundation counts.
§Make a plan that suits you
You don't need to decide everything at once. Many take some AMU courses first, find out what interests them, and then choose a longer education when the desire and life situation fit. What matters is knowing that the opportunities are there — and that trained property service technician is a strong starting point for moving forward.
