How to strengthen dialogue and shared responsibility in a group
Most tasks today are solved in cooperation with others. Therefore the ability to communicate clearly and cooperate respectfully is a professional competency on a par with the craftsmanship. When a team works well there is higher quality fewer misunderstandings and better wellbeing.
§Active listening
Communication begins with listening. Active listening means giving the other person your full attention, asking clarifying questions and summarizing what you have heard before responding yourself. It prevents misunderstandings and signals respect.

§Giving and receiving feedback
Feedback is a gift when given properly. Good feedback is concrete, describes behaviour rather than the person and comes in an appropriate amount. A simple framework is to describe the situation, what effect it had and what you wish for going forward.
§Psychological safety
A team performs best when members dare to say no ask questions and admit mistakes without fear of being ridiculed. This is called psychological safety. It is not the same as avoiding conflicts — quite the opposite; safety makes the difficult professional discussions possible.
Conflicts as a natural part of cooperation
Disagreement is not a sign of a bad team. Professional conflicts can lead to better solutions if they are handled with respect. The important thing is to keep focus on the matter rather than the person and to seek a shared understanding of the problem before discussing solutions.
When a team has clear agreements about how you speak together, how decisions are made, and who does what, everyday work becomes more predictable—and it releases energy for the actual work.
