How much sand in the joints?
The jointing material fills the grid between the pavers: joint share = 1 − paver face/((L+joint)·(W+joint)). Volume = area · joint depth · joint share, and can be converted to tonnes. The geometry is exact; the consumption is an estimate due to compaction and waste (DS 1136: joint 2–5 mm).
