Sten/m² = 1 / ((L+fuge)·(B+fuge)) — ren geometri, ligesom murerens sten/m². Total = areal · sten/m² + svind. Geometrien er eksakt; totalen er overslag pga. fuge (DS 1136: 2–5 mm) og mønster-svind.
