Density and weight
How much does the workpiece weigh? Enter the dimensions in millimetres and the material's density from the data sheet, and you get the weight.

Answer
Mass
47.1kg
Volume
6dm³
In grams
47,100g
How to work it out
- 1V = 1,000 · 2,000 · 3 mm³ = 6 dm³
- 2m = V · ρ = 6 dm³ · 7.85 kg/dm³ = 47.1 kg
The formula
ρ = m / V
Density is mass per volume.
1 kg/dm³ = 1 g/cm³ = 1.000 kg/m³
The same density in three units.
1 dm³ = 1.000.000 mm³
Measurements in mm must be divided by a million to become dm³.
