Aseptic preparation
§1. Patient preparation
- 01Confirm patient, procedure and any fasting according to clinic rules.
- 02Follow the veterinarian's instructions on sedation and monitoring.
- 03Prepare the operating field according to procedure (cleaning and draping).
§2. Room and equipment preparation
- 01Ensure a clean and disinfected operating room.
- 02Check that sterile equipment is unbroken and within shelf life.
- 03Prepare monitoring and anesthesia equipment.
- 04Keep sterile and unclean clearly separate.
§3. During the procedure
- 01Maintain asepsis throughout the entire procedure.
- 02Monitor the patient's condition as instructed.
- 03Assist the veterinarian and hand sterile equipment correctly.
- 04Document progress and given medicine in the journal.
