Checklist: before you deliver a serviced watch to customer
Ensures quality and documentation every time
When a watch is finished, it's tempting to send it on its way right away. But the last few minutes' check are often the ones that determine whether the customer is satisfied. Use this checklist as a fixed routine so nothing is forgotten.
§Function and operation
- 01Check that clock keeps correct time over an appropriate period
- 02Check that all functions work — date, crown, buttons and similar
- 03Set the watch's time and date correctly before delivery
§Appearance and tightness.
- 01Check that glass, box and tape are clean and without new scratches
- 02Make sure that rear covers and seals are seated correctly
- 03Assess tightness if the watch is specified as waterproof
§Documentation
- 01Note which parts have been changed or worked on
- 02Write a short, understandable explanation for the customer
- 03Save information about the repair for possible complaint
With a fixed checklist quality becomes not a question of form of the day. It becomes a routine you and your customers can rely on.
