Template: price quote and agreement with customer

Clear information about price before work begins

Most dissatisfied customers are not dissatisfied with the work but with an invoice they did not expect. A clear agreement about price and scope before you start is therefore one of the most important habits in the trade.

§Describe the task

  • 01Note what the customer wants done and what they experience as the problem
  • 02Describe which examination or repair you propose
  • 03Explain if there is uncertainty until the watch is opened

§Price and reservations

  • 01Provide a realistic estimate of price and time requirements
  • 02Explain that the price may change if you find hidden faults
  • 03Agree that you will contact the customer if the price exceeds the estimate

§Confirm the agreement

Briefly repeat the agreement for the customer and write it down so you both know what has been agreed. A receipt or a note with price, scope and expected time is enough — the important thing is that you are in agreement before work begins.

A good activity is not just 'something that makes time pass'. It has a purpose fits the group and can be evaluated afterwards. Use this template every time you need to plan something — in practice and on the job.
