Checklist: full brake test

Follow the phases in sequence — skip none

Use the list in the order shown. A 'no' in any of the fields means the train is not ready until the fault is found and corrected.

§1. Coupling and air passage

  • 01All vehicles are mechanically correctly connected together
  • 02Brake hoses are connected between all cars
  • 03Air is more expensive

§2. Condition of vehicles

  • 01Visual control for damage to couplings, buffers and braking equipment
  • 02No loose or damaged parts found
  • 03Any errors noted and reported

§3. Tightness test

§4. Braking and release

  • 01The brakes respond uniformly across the entire train when activated
  • 02The brakes release correctly again when released — no cars are stuck

  • 01Brake certificate issued or renewed for the train's current composition
  • 02Signature/name of the one who conducted the inspection.
  • 03Train cleared for departure or further shunting
