Template: preparation for apprenticeship conversation
How to arrive well prepared to meet a potential employer
An apprenticeship is your way into the main course and companies often choose the student who seems most motivated and best prepared — not necessarily the one with the best grades. Use this template to prepare yourself before you make contact or show up.
§During and under training
- 01Find out what the company does — theater, events, rentals, TV?
- 02Write briefly why this place interests you
- 03Keep track of how far you are in your education and what you can do
§What you would like to tell
- 01Why you chose this trade and what you are passionate about
- 02What you have already tried — also from leisure time and voluntary work
- 03You being ready to learn, arrive on time and get started
§What you will want to ask about
- 01What tasks will I typically be involved in?
- 02Who will I be working with?
- 03How does a typical week look here?
“Preparation is the best way to show you really mean it here.”
