Troubleshooting in audio signal
Find the error systematically from source to speaker
When there is no sound follow the signal instead of randomly switching. Start at the source and work towards the speaker – or vice versa.
§Follow the signal path
- 01Is the source on and sending a signal?
- 02Is the channel on the console open and is the level turned up?
- 03Is the cable intact and is it in correctly?
- 04Does the amplifier have power and is the speaker connected?
§Common causes
- 01A channel is muted or turned all the way down
- 02A cable is broken or not fully inserted
- 03Incorrect patch — the signal goes elsewhere
- 04Missing power to a link in the chain
