Embedding mass: special liquid and water

How much concentrate and how much water?

Answer: Phosphate-bonded investment material controls expansion with the special fluid's concentration: the more concentrate the greater the expansion. The manufacturer states fluid per powder pack and a concentration according to alloy type and work eg 50% BegoSol HE for precious alloy and 90% for base metal. The calculator divides the fluid into concentrate and distilled water so you hit the ratio every time.

Formula

Væske i alt (ml) = pulver (g) × væske pr. 100 g ÷ 100

Koncentrat (ml) = væske i alt × koncentration ÷ 100

Destilleret vand (ml) = væske i alt − koncentrat

Validity and source

Source
BEGO Bellavest SH, instructions: 160 g powder + 40 ml liquid; BegoSol HE 50% noble, 70% semi-noble, 90% non-noble for crowns/bridges

Does not apply when

  • The figures apply only to the product and alloy the instruction manual names. Use distilled or demineralised water and maintain the fluid at the temperature the manufacturer specifies since temperature also shifts expansion.

Sådan bruger du den

Du bruger den, når du blander fosfatbundet indstøbningsmasse og skal dele væsken op i specialvæske og destilleret vand efter legering og arbejde.

Step by step

  1. Find pulverets vægt og væske pr. 100 g i brugsanvisningen.

Typical errors

  • At bruge postevand i stedet for destilleret vand.
  • At bruge samme koncentration til alle legeringer.
  • At lade specialvæsken fryse. Den kan blive ubrugelig.

Examples from everyday life

Ædel legering

En pose på 160 g skal blandes med 25 ml væske pr. 100 g. Til ædel legering skriver BEGO 50 % specialvæske.

Powder
160 g
Fluid per 100 g powder (from instructions)
25 ml/100 g
Concentration of special liquid
50 %

It means: Du skal bruge 20 ml specialvæske og 20 ml destilleret vand, i alt 40 ml.

Uædel legering i to poser

To poser på 160 g skal bruges til en stor bro i uædel legering, og BEGO skriver 90 % specialvæske.

Powder
320 g
Fluid per 100 g powder (from instructions)
25 ml/100 g
Concentration of special liquid
90 %

It means: Du skal bruge 72 ml specialvæske og kun 8 ml vand.

Rule of thumb

Højere koncentration giver mere ekspansion og et større emne.

How to check the answer

Prøv støbningen på modellen. Sidder kronerne for stramt, skal koncentrationen op næste gang.
