From foundry assistant to design and quality
Foundry technician is a trade with several levels and directions. The training includes, among other things, a step as a foundry assistant, and as a fully trained person you can work with the entire chain from design to finished item.
§A broad trade
One of the trade's characteristics is breadth. You can be involved in all parts of the casting process from developing the casting mould to post-processing and testing the finished product. This means you must be able to plan calculate produce and quality assure.
§Where you can work
Foundry technicians are typically employed at iron and metal foundries where metal is melted and cast into parts for, among other things, cars, agricultural machines and ships. It is a workplace with both craftsmanship and industry.
