Work process: from drawing to finished tabletop

The most important steps in a typical stone technician object

A good stone job is carefully planned before cutting. Because an error cannot be corrected the early steps are the most important.

§1. Understand the drawing

§2. Mål op

  • 01Measure carefully — preferably several times
  • 02Be aware of corners that are not quite straight
  • 03Note all dimensions clearly before proceeding

§3. Cut and work the material

  • 01Cut the workpiece to size with saw and milling machine
  • 02Make and check one complete part before the series is set in motion. If approved, the series is released; if a deviation is found, the setup or program is corrected, and a new first part is made. It's the cheapest quality control that exists.
  • 03Shape the edges as desired
  • 04Sand and polish the surface to the right finish

§4. Assemble

  • 01Transport piece safely — it is heavy and fragile
  • 02Place it so it sits precisely and firmly
  • 03Check result with customer
