§Machine safety — respect for what moves
Cutting and milling machines are powerful and can cause serious injuries. Wear eye protection against splinters, hearing protection against noise and the correct protective equipment. Follow the machine's instructions, keep guards in place, and never work in a way where a hand could come near the blade. Concentration is part of safety.

Quality in stone work begins with precision. Because an error cannot be corrected by putting material back, careful measurement and planning are essential. A workpiece must fit to the millimetre, the surface must be smooth and without defects, and the edges must be clean. It requires patience and a good eye.
