Checklist: Ready to start main course

How to ensure the agreement and papers are in place

The main course can only begin when the agreement and the practical matters are in place. Use the list here as a final check so you don't stand and lack anything on the first day.

§Before you sign

  • 01You have a written training agreement with an employer
  • 02You have read what the pay is, and whether you are entitled to adult apprentice pay
  • 03You have documentation of relevant experience ready if you apply for adult apprentice pay
  • 04You know when school periods and training periods are.
  • 05You are registered in an unemployment insurance fund and possibly a trade union

§Practical before the first day

  • 01You know where and when you meet and who greets you.
  • 02You have on top of transport and possibly shift schedules
  • 03You have clarified work clothes and personal protective equipment
  • 04You know the name of your training supervisor or contact person.

When the list is green all the way through, you can show up with peace of mind and focus on what it's all about: learning the trade.
