Checklist: preparation of welding robot cell

Control points before robot is put into operation

§Fixture and clamping

  • 01Is the fixture adapted to the current item and does the item sit firmly without slippage?
  • 02Has the clamping been checked during several repeated clamping cycles so the position is the same each time?
  • 03Have worn or damaged fixture parts been replaced?

§Program and parameters

  • 01Are ribs along their length kept outside the hatching?
  • 02Are welding parameters — current, voltage, wire speed, gas flow — set for the current material and material thickness?
  • 03Have zero point and reference points been checked after fixture or item change?

§Safety

  • 01Are safety guards, light curtains and emergency stop tested and functional?
  • 02Is there a clear procedure for accessing the cell during setup and troubleshooting?
  • 03Is the print clean of flash residue, trim and other dirt?

§Test welding and approval

  • 01Has a test weld been performed on a test component or the first component in the series?
  • 02Is the prototype or solution ready and does it work as it should technically?
  • 03Has the result been documented regardless of whether it is an approval or a rejection?
