Control form for watercourse and wetland care

Systematic assessment before you act

Use the form to assess and document care needs before you step in at a waterway or wetland.

  • 01Describe the current condition of the watercourse or wetland
  • 02Check for obstructions that prevent free passage for fish and animals.
  • 03Assess the need for spawning areas or other physical restoration
  • 04Choose the gentlest method, e.g. hand-pounding instead of excavation
  • 05Consider breeding times and sensitive periods for flora and fauna
  • 06Plan time spent per discipline and keep track of time during practice.
  • 07Document what was done, when and why
  • 08Follow up and note how the area develops after the effort
