Standard procedure: annual cleaning and fire prevention inspection

Use this standard as a checklist at a routine visit with cleaning and inspection. It ensures a fixed order, so you work safely, remember the statutory inspections and finish with a proper report to the customer. Always adapt based on the type of installation and the applicable regulations.

§Arrival and preparation

  • 01Greet the customer and clarify which systems need cleaning and inspection.
  • 02Cover the tires indoors with soot so the living room and floor are protected.
  • 03Assess access route to roof and chimney as well as weather and ground.
  • 04Prepare cleaning equipment, respiratory protection and soot collection.

§Cleaning and inspection

  • 01Clean the chimney and outlet according to system type and requirements.
  • 02Collect the soot and keep dust down with suction and safety equipment.
  • 03Before the fire-prevention inspection: look for glazed soot, cracks, defects, and dangerous conditions.
  • 04Check combustion and exhaust where relevant for the system.

§Completion and advice

  • 01Clean up and leave the work site clean.
  • 02Explain to the customer what you found and what may need to be fixed.
  • 03Note and document the visit and notify the authorities of serious faults.
  • 04Advise on efficient and environmentally sound heating and next cleaning.
