How to ensure you are well prepared for the final exam
The journeyman's exam is the last step on the road to a journeyman certificate as a marine installer — here you demonstrate your abilities as a qualified professional. Use this checklist in the weeks leading up to the exam to ensure you are as well prepared as possible.

- 01Review the competence goals for your specialty and honestly assess where you are strong and where you should practice more
- 02Repeat the central work tasks: troubleshooting, processing, assembly, welding and repair
- 03Check that you can read and use the drawings and diagram types you encountered in training
- 04Review your previous assignments and the feedback you received from your internship company and school
§Practical preparation
- 01Make sure that your personal tools are in order and calibrated if relevant
- 02Check your certificates — are they all valid and up to date?
- 03Provide the right protective equipment for the task
- 04Plan your time so you don't rush at the last moment
§On the actual day
- 01Arrive in good time and go through the exam task thoroughly before you start
- 02Work systematically and document as you go, as you are used to in everyday work
- 03Say if something is unclear in the task — it is better than guessing
