Checklist for a rounding shift

How the basic course is structured with common and different specialties

A good round of rounds is about system and attentiveness. Use this checklist as a starting point and tailor it to the procedures that apply at your specific post.

§Før du går

  • 01Check your equipment: flashlight, communication equipment, keys/access cards, and reporting tools
  • 02PLACEHOLDER_65
  • 03Make sure that someone knows where you are and when you report next.

§Along the way.

  • 01Follow the set route, but be alert to the unexpected.
  • 02Check doors, windows, alarms, and critical points systematically
  • 03Note irregularities with time and place while you remember it.
  • 04Keep contact according to agreed intervals.

§After rounding

  • 01Write a short, accurate report of what you saw and did.
  • 02Return or register equipment correctly.
  • 03Pass important observations on to the next shift or manager.

A checklist does not replace your judgment — it supports it so you can focus on what requires your presence.
