Checklist: Suspicious object or bomb threat
Observe, create distance, call—don't touch yourself
§Assess the situation
- 01Has the object been left without a visible owner over a period?
- 02Is the gun and hoses whole and clean?
- 03Note time and appearance while it is fresh in memory
§Create distance immediately
- 01DO NOT touch the object and do not attempt to examine it yourself
- 02Keep other people away from the area — use the distance you can, and expand rather than underestimate
- 03Avoid using radio/mobile close to the object if your workplace's procedure prescribes it.
§Call and inform
- 01Call 112 and give a brief, factual description: what, where, when
- 02Inform emergency centre/manager according to regulations on site
- 03Guide the police forward when they arrive and hand over leadership to them
