Standard solution: Choose cleaning agent by dirt type
Match pH and agent to the task rather than guessing
§The basic principle
Choose agent based on what the dirt is. Acidic agents loosen lime and rust, alkaline agents loosen fat and protein, neutral agents are used for gentle daily cleaning. Start with the mildest agent that solves the problem, and only use stronger methods when needed.

§Sinner's circle — if an agent cannot be used
If you cannot use so much chemistry (for example on a sensitive surface), turn up one of the other factors: more mechanics (friction), more time or higher temperature, if the surface can take it.
