Template: Observation of a child's wellbeing

How to observe and put words to what matters

Seeing and putting words to what you see is a professional skill. Stick to what you actually observe.

§What you look for

  • 01How is the child doing socially — does it play with others, is it alone?
  • 02Language and communication: how does the child express itself?
  • 03Motor skills and activity: what does the child master, what is difficult?
  • 04Emotions and mood during the day.
  • 05Changes over time – something that is different from before?

§How to record

  • 01Write what you saw – not what you think or guess.
  • 02Note time and situation.
  • 03Keep it respectful and confidential.
  • 04Divide the budget into clear line items.
