Checklist: evaluation of piece before treatment

This is how you clarify material condition and requirements before choosing pretreatment and coating

Use this list before you start a new topic. It ensures that you choose a treatment that suits both the material and what the object needs to withstand.

§Material and condition

  • 01What material is the workpiece — steel, aluminum, other metal?
  • 02Is there rust, old paint, grease or dirt to remove?
  • 03Are there damage or sharp edges requiring special attention?

§Working environment

  • 01Should the item be indoors or outdoors?
  • 02Is it exposed to salt moisture chemicals or heavy wear?
  • 03How many years should the flooring last?

§Selection of system

  • 01Which preparation does the condition and material require?
  • 02Is wet or powder paint best for the task?
  • 03Should there be ground under the top layer?

When everything is clarified you can proceed to pre-treatment with a clear goal for the result.
