Checklist: are you ready to start surface treatment?
A guide to entry requirements practice placement and the first steps
Starting a vocational education can seem overwhelming. Use this checklist to take things in the right order so nothing falls between two stools.
§1. Check access requirements
- 01Have you passed Danish and mathematics with at least 2.0?
- 02If not: investigate admission test and interview at a vocational school
- 03Are you 25+ or experienced? Ask about direct access to basic course 2.
§2. Choose school and programme
Find out where you can take the basic course and where the main course in the trade is offered. Contact guidance at school — they will help you make a plan that suits your background.
§3. Apply for an apprenticeship early
§4. Prepare for the work environment
The craft involves working with chemicals and safety equipment. Show in conversations that you take safety seriously — that's a quality companies notice.
“The one who seeks an apprenticeship first stands strongest.”
