The apprenticeship position is the key to the entire education. Without a training agreement you cannot complete. Therefore it is important to work systematically - the earlier, the better.
§Before you search
- 01Make a short summary of the most important rules and technical concepts.
- 02Get your CV sorted and any grades from the basic course.
- 03Use the school's apprenticeship guidance — they often know the companies.
- 04Make a short, honest application that shows you understand the field's safety requirements
§When you contact companies
- 01Call or visit in person if you can - a face is remembered better than an email.
- 02Be specific about how far you are in your education and when you can start.
- 03Ask if you can do a short sniff-around internship visit if they are in doubt.
- 04Follow up politely if you don't hear back.
§When the agreement must be made.
An apprenticeship is a formal document. Make sure it is clear which period it covers and that wages follow the relevant agreement. The first three months are probation — use them to show what you can do.
§Stay in place
