How to ensure drawing, dimensions, and material are in place before you switch on the machine

Use this list each time you start a new task. It takes a few minutes and saves you from wasted material and recutting.

§Drawing and dimensions

  • 01Do you fully understand the drawing — also the assemblies?
  • 02Are all music uses in the finished version included even short excerpts and jingles?
  • 03Do you know which parts should go one way or the other?

§Material

  • 01Is the wood/board dry and without visible defects, cracks or knots where it matters?
  • 02Have you calculated how the parts are placed best for the least waste?
  • 03Do you have enough material — also for a couple of waste items?

§Machine and control: ______

  • 01Is the machine set up correctly and the guard in place?
  • 02Is the blade or cutter sharp and undamaged?
  • 03Is extraction on and do you have your protective equipment on?

When all points are checked off you are ready to cut with peace of mind.
