Checklist for tire and wheel inspection

Fixed points for checking and changing tires and wheels.

Use the list for tyre inspection and wheel changes. Always follow the manufacturer's tyre pressure, dimensions and torque specifications for the individual car.

§Tyre inspection

  • 01Measure the pattern depth and check against the legal limit.
  • 02Assess the wear pattern — one-sided wear points to pressure or wheel alignment.
  • 03Check sidewall and tread for cuts, bulges, nails and cracks.
  • 04Check length in dry hair – remember spring-back.
  • 05Adjust tire pressure to manufacturer's specification.

§At wheel change

  • 01PLACEHOLDER_32
  • 02PLACEHOLDER_86
  • 03Clean hub and rim contact surfaces for dirt and rust.
  • 04Install the wheel and tighten the bolts diagonally to the manufacturer's torque specification.
  • 05Balance the wheel so the car doesn't shake at speed.

§Conclusion

  • 01Check tire pressure again after installation.
  • 02Note tread depth and any recommendations on the order.
  • 03Test run and check for vibrations and uneven driving.
