Checklist: preflight before printing
Technical inspection of a pressure-filled file
§Colour
- 01Is the document in the correct colour space (typically CMYK for printing)?
- 02Has the correct colour profile required by the printer been used?
- 03Are there unintentional RGB or spot colours that need to be converted?
§Images and resolution
- 01Do all images have sufficient resolution for printing?
- 02Are no images enlarged so much that they have become blurry?
- 03Is all cabling and mounting checked against the diagram?
§Script and text
- 01Are all typefaces embedded or converted to curves/outlines?
- 02Has proofreading been done, and has the text been approved?
- 03Is there no excess text in hidden text boxes?
§Format and cropping
- 01Is the document in the agreed final format?
- 02Is there bleed (overrun) where colour/image goes to edge?
- 03Are trim marks set correctly if the printer wants it?
