Checklist: safe work with dust and chemicals

Protect airways, skin and eyes when grinding, casting or gluing

What doesn't hurt immediately can still damage you over years. Make dust and chemical protection a habit not an exception.

§Before you start

  • 01Find out what material and products you work with
  • 02Make sure that extraction and ventilation work
  • 03Put on respiratory protection, gloves, and eye protection as needed
  • 04Check that flammable products are away from heat and sparks

§During the work.

  • 01Keep extraction close to where dust and vapors arise
  • 02Avoid getting chemicals on skin—and rinse immediately if it happens.
  • 03Keep order so you don't stumble or spread dust unnecessarily

§Afterwards

  • 01Clean equipment and workplace so dust doesn't accumulate
  • 02Store chemical products responsibly
  • 03Wash hands thoroughly before you eat or drink
