Checklist: quality assurance before delivery

The last quiet inspection before a workpiece leaves the workshop

The final check is your chance to catch errors while they're still easy to fix. Take it slowly and thoroughly.

§Dimensions and shape

  • 01Do size and form match what was agreed?
  • 02Are joints, seams and fasteners correct?
  • 03Is there anything that looks crooked or wrong?

§Strength and durability

  • 01Have the glue and joints set as they should?
  • 02Are loaded areas reinforced enough?
  • 03Are cleaning agents stored and used correctly?

§Finish and completion

  • 01Are surfaces nice and without sharp edges or defects?
  • 02Is anything missing that should have been included?
  • 03Preferably get a colleague to check with fresh eyes

§Handover

  • 01Explain to the customer how the item is used and maintained
  • 02Note what is made and which materials are used
  • 03Agree when it may need to be inspected again
