Document layers, products and drying times so the work can be traced and repeated correctly
Good documentation of a surface treatment is not bureaucracy for fun — it makes it possible to trace which product and which batch was used if problems arise later, and it ensures that drying times are complied with rather than guessed.

§Weather conditions during application
- 01Note temperature – too low or too high affects curing
- 02Note air humidity which can give a worse surface
- 03Note wind conditions that increase risk of dust and overspray
§Inspection before next layer
- 01Sand lightly between layers where the product prescribes it
- 02Clean the surface for grinding dust before the next layer is applied
- 03Check locking mechanisms, wedge joints and rosettes for wear and deformation.
§Approval
The form concludes with a final inspection where a colleague or supervisor reviews the work with fresh eyes before the boat is released for launch.
