Work process: repair of damage
From finding the right fault to a repair that holds
A quick fix that does not hold is often more expensive than a proper repair because it fails when it matters. Proceed systematically.
§1. Find the right fault
- 01Examine the damage carefully—is what you see the whole problem?
- 02Find out why the damage occurred so it doesn't repeat
- 03Assess whether it can be repaired or whether the part must be replaced
§2. Prepare
- 01Choose material and method that match the original
- 02Clean and prepare the area so the repair can set
- 03Have tools and protective equipment ready
§3. Remedy
- 01Work carefully and give adhesive and joints time to set
- 02Make sure that the repair is at least as strong as the surrounding
- 03Adapt so it also looks tidy
§4. Check and deliver
- 01Check level control valve function so suspension maintains correct vehicle height under load.
- 02Explain to the customer what was wrong and how it can be avoided
- 03Note what was done
