Checklist for preparation before inspection

Fixed points so a heavy vehicle meets inspection requirements.

Use the list to prepare a heavy vehicle before inspection. Always follow the applicable requirements and the manufacturer's specifications for the individual vehicle.

§Brakes and steering

  • 01Check brake performance and tightness in compressed air system.
  • 02Check brake pads, discs/drums, and spring brakes.
  • 03Check equipment for damage and residues; lubricate where relevant.

§Wheels, lights and equipment

  • 01Check tires for wear and damage and re-tighten wheel bolts.
  • 02Test all lights, reflectors and signalling equipment.
  • 03Check windows, wipers, mirrors and horn.
  • 04Check load securing equipment and superstructure.

§Motor, environment and conclusion

  • 01Check for oil, fuel and coolant leaks.
  • 02Check chain, blade or knife
  • 03Read off and rectify fault codes from the control units.
  • 04Check tachograph function according to current requirements.
  • 05Document the inspected and remedied work.
