Process template: order picking
From pick list to controlled, packed order
§1. Preparation
- 01Get the pick list/order from the system.
- 02Prepare suitable packaging and picking aids.
- 03Plan continued education at least 6 months before expiration — avoid rush in popular periods.
§2. Picking
- 01Confirm item number and quantity at each pick.
- 02Scan barcodes where the system supports it.
- 03Pick according to FIFO where shelf life applies.
§3. Inspection and packing
- 01Compare the picked order with the pick list.
- 02Pack safely: heavy items at the bottom, fill voids.
- 03Attach correct shipping marking and document.
§4. Completion
- 01Record the order as picked/dispatched in the system.
- 02Place for shipment in the right location.
- 03Report any outstanding orders or shortages further.
