Template for skin analysis and treatment plan

How to assess your client's skin and create a plan you both understand

A good farrier ensures the horse can stand safely on all four.

§1. Uncover customer's starting point

  • 01What does the customer want to achieve?
  • 02Skin type and current condition (dry, oily, sensitive, combination).
  • 03Allergies, skin reactions, and known issues.
  • 04Current care and product habits at home.

§2. Conduct the analysis

Assess the skin calmly and systematically and note what you see and feel. Keep your observations separate from your recommendations so it is clear what is fact and what is your professional assessment.

§3. Lay out the treatment plan

Follow-upWhen and what you follow up on

§4. Sum up with customer

Explain the plan in language the customer understands and be honest about what is realistic. A customer who knows what will happen and why follows the plan better and becomes more satisfied.
